On March 19, 2023, the unveiling ceremony of the city’s first “Library + Art Gallery in the Community” project was officially held, The project was jointly developed by Xiang’an District Library, Xiamen C&D Real Estate Co., Ltd. (“C&D Real Estate”), and Xiamen Xindeco IoT Technology Co., Ltd. (“Xindeco IoT”). This initiative follows the successful opening of the city’s first networked library-in-community project, Xiang’an District Library’s Xueyuan Neighborhood Book House, in 2022, marking another milestone in the three parties’ collaboration.
The “Library + Art Gallery in the Community” project integrates book reading with art exhibitions for the first time, further enriching the cultural and spiritual life of local residents. The library is equipped with a number of RFID-enabled self-service devices. Using RFID smart library tags as for identification and tracking, combined with a back-end data analysis system, the project enables residents to borrow and return books independently. The use of RFID tags not only improves the utilization of community libraries but also reduces the workload of community staff, making digital library management a reality.
In recent years, with the continuous development of China’s economy, the demand for cultural enrichment has grown steadily. As an essential part of the public cultural service system, community culture plays a key role in enhancing residents’ overall quality of life. Xindeco IoT hopes that through the application of small RFID tags, it can contribute to community cultural development and leverage IoT technology to help improve quality of life.
